Character Profile

1.    Miyax = Miyax is a smart girl that tries to survive in the wild. She is a very good observer and can imitate the wolf’s behavior. She is able to create and do stuff to survive like build a home and hunt animals, and she is able to apply all the things her father had taught her

2.    Amaroq = Amaroq is the leader of the pack that is well respected by the other wolves. The other wolves look up to him and Amaroq decides what the pack should do and where is should go. When it first saw Miyax, it ignored her, but then invited her to the pack and welcomed her in the den.

3.    Kapugen = Kapugen is Miyax’s dad that left Miyax and haven’t came back. But with all the things Kapugen taught Miyax, Miyax was able to survive. Kapugen was a very good dad and teacher to Miyax because without him, Miyax would probably not survive.

4.    Silver = Silver is the wolf that takes care of the baby wolves. There were some baby wolves that need to be taken care of and some are quite naughty. Because of that, Silver may look a bit mean and strict to the baby wolves but that really is only for a good cause.

Question and Summary

Question = What did Miyax do when she was lost?

Summary =

Miyax is an Eskimo girl and now is in the Arctic and is lost. She’s very hungry and she saw a den that has a pack of wolves. She was hoping the wolves would notice her and bring her some food. But the wolves, especially the leader Amaroq, kept on ignoring her while she tries to get their attention.

          Miyax was lost because she just ran away from her terrifying husband, Daniel. She was just 13 years old and already married. She also intended to visit her pen pal, Amy. For her to do that, she must find her way to Point Hope.

          To go to Point Hope, she must first survive being lost. She was really depending on the wolves to keep bringing her food at first, but then she knew she shouldn’t depend on the wolves for survival.

Prediction

My prediction =

        I predict that Miyax would continue living with the wolves and that the wolves would help keep her alive. And that she would be able to get away from her marriage and meet her dad once more. Also that one day she would find a town or find her way to Point Hope and could stop living with the wolves.

She cautiously crawls towards it.

Then she made her way to the wolf's den.
